Dr. Sutker opened his clinic in 2014. As the main practice, he specializes in bariatrics, general, and laparoscopic surgery. His prestigious private practice is one of the few that comprise the Surgical Consultants of Dallas, LLC. Dr. Sutker comprehensively approaches patient treatment, collaborating with his colleagues to achieve the best outcomes. He is a board-certified general surgeon and has completed fellowships with the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS) and the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
Dr. Sutker was born in Plano, TX, and attended Plano Senior High School. As his father is an orthopedic surgeon, while his uncle is an infectious disease specialist, he grew up in a medical family. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Plan 2 Honors from the University of Texas in Austin, TX, and a medical degree from Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX.
Dr. Sutker earned his residency and surgery internship at UT-Southwestern. Following that, he completed a minimally invasive and bariatric surgery fellowship at the University of California-San Francisco. He continues his medical education by attending frequent national and local conferences to stay current on the latest surgical and research procedures.
Dr. Sutker is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Obesity Medicine Association, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the Dallas County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.
