There was a study that consisted of a telephone survey of 10,000 adults living in households in the greater Chicago area, many of whom lived in Springfield near Drug Rehab Springfield. The purpose and content of the survey were similar to those of the Survey of School-Aged Youth and the Survey of the Medicaid-Eligible Population. In addition, it was hoped that the large sample size would allow a determination of the extent of treatment need by level of care for the adult household population of the state.  It was found that more than thirty percent of all adults surveyed had abused drugs or alcohol in the last month, and of those thirty percent who admitted to abusing alcohol, more than half of them admitted to having abused alcohol whole at the workplace.

Sadly, almost twice as many people who are unemployed struggle with addiction than those who are full time workers, according to and reported by CNN Money.  For the numbers on it, about 17 percent of the unemployed and 9 percent of the employed population struggled with a substance use disorder in 2012.  But that is a national statistic.  The numbers have both climbed in 2015, with twenty percent of the unemployed suffering with addiction issues and eleven percent of the employed so suffering according to Drug Rehab Springfield.  Furthermore, Springfield has seen a much faster increase of their employed population suffering with both an addiction to drugs and an addiction to alcohol than their unemployed counterparts have.

About 1.3 million adults and 73,000 adolescents received treatment in 2013 at a specialized facility for an alcohol use disorder, but that same year had statistics of over twenty-two million addicts all in all.  Around a third of all college students admitted to publicly funded substance abuse treatment programs in 2010 battled a co-occurring mental health disorder.  The two problems often go hand-in-hand.  Furthermore, about half of all working class adults admitted to having abused alcohol at least once in the last six months.

What to Do About the Problem in Springfield

Sadly, there does not exist a super simple or easy way out of this problem. The truly best and most successful way to address it takes some work, but it is totally worth it in the long run.  This method lies of course in tackling addiction with the help of an inpatient, residential, drug and alcohol addiction and dependence treatment center like Drug Rehab Springfield, detox facility, rehab program, and recovery organization.  These are by far the most successful methods to take when it comes to tackling an addiction problem in Springfield.  Alcohol abuse here amongst the working class is just simply out of control, and something needs to be done before it gets any worse.

With inpatient rehab, those who are addicted in Springfield actually stand a chance at getting their lives back.  What better route to take than to do just that?  Addiction does not get better on its own.  That is just not how it happens.  It only gets worse and worse and worse.  That is just the way that it is.  With rehab though, the problem is sure to become something of the past if those who are addicted truly apply themselves to it.
